Pest Control Pre-Treatment / Post-Treatment Instructions
Important: Areas not properly prepared will not be treated.
These instructions must be completed before your scheduled inspection/treatment
day. Please read carefully and prepare according to the pest issue(s) in your property.
General Rules for All Treatments

Vacancy Requirements
o Standard vacancy applies per treatment (see below).
o Additional 2 hours required for toddlers (0–24 months), pregnant individuals,
and those with respiratory issues.
o Pets must be removed for the entire vacancy period.

Special Care
o Remove baby bottles and pacifiers from treated areas.
o Cover fish tanks with thick towels and turn off filters (we cannot take
responsibility for fish loss).
o Move furniture 3 feet away from walls.

After Treatment
o Do not liquid clean (mop, steam clean, or wet wipe) treated areas for at least 2
weeks.
o Avoid damp cloths, wet wipes, or any wet cleaning methods.
o Use dry towels or dry cloths only to wipe down or clean treated surfaces.
o Do not vacuum or clean any dusts, gels, foams, or other pest control products
applied to baseboards, cracks, or crevices.
o Do not tamper with installed devices such as pest monitors, baits, or traps.

Compliance
o We only use pesticides approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary
Medicines Authority (APVMA).

Service-Specific Preparation
Ants & General Pests

  • Areas: Kitchen, Bathroom, Floors
  • Vacancy: 2 hours
  • Instructions: Follow the kitchen, bathroom, and floor prep steps listed below

Fleas & Carpet Beetles

  • Areas: Floors, Pet Linens
  • Vacancy: 3 hours
  • Instructions:
    o Have pets flea-dipped on day of service.
    o Resume vacuuming 3 days after service, then daily for 2 weeks.
    o Dispose of vacuum bags outdoors.
    o Do not steam clean for 2 weeks.

Pantry Pests

  • Areas: Kitchen
  • Vacancy: 2 hours
  • Instructions: Inspect and discard all infested pantry foods in outside bins.

German/Brown-Banded Roaches

  • Areas: Kitchen, Bathroom, Floors, Faceplates, Wall Décor
  • Vacancy: 4 hours
  • Instructions: All listed prep must be completed in full before treatment.

Bed Bugs

  • Areas: All areas (Kitchen, Bathroom, Floors, Bedding, Pet Linens, Closets, Faceplates,
    Wall Décor)
  • Vacancy: 4 hours
  • Instructions:
    o Empty dresser drawers, nightstands, closets, and shelves.
    o Wash all bedding, plush toys, draperies, and pet linens in hot water; store
    cleaned items in sealed bags.
    o Disassemble bed frames; stand mattresses and box springs upright.
    o Remove wall hangings, mirrors, and electrical faceplates.
    o Stored luggage must be emptied.

Wasps

  • Areas: External walls, eaves, roof voids, garden shrubs/trees
  • Vacancy: 2–3 hours (longer if nests are inside roof voids or enclosed areas)

Instructions:
o Keep children, pets, and vulnerable individuals away from the treatment area.
o Do not attempt to knock down or disturb the nest prior to treatment.
o Ensure windows and doors near the infestation are closed before the technician
arrives.

After Treatment:
▪ Stay away from treated nests/areas for at least 24 hours.
▪ Do not hose down or disturb treated areas for 2 weeks.
▪ Do not attempt to remove treated nests — leave them in place until
completely inactive (usually 2–3 weeks).
▪ Contact us if live wasp activity continues beyond 2–3 weeks.

Bees

  • Areas: External walls, roof voids, tree hollows, garden structures
  • Vacancy: 4 hours minimum (depending on infestation location and whether relocation
    is performed)
  • Instructions:
    o Bees are protected and should be relocated where possible. Our technicians will
    assess whether relocation or treatment is required.
    o Do not disturb or spray the hive/nest before service.
    o Keep children, pets, and vulnerable individuals away from the hive/nest location.
    o After Treatment or Relocation:
    ▪ Stay clear of the area for at least 24–48 hours.
    ▪ Do not spray water or tamper with the treated or relocated hive site.
    ▪ Expect some bee activity for a few days as stragglers return to the old
    hive site.
    ▪ If relocation has occurred, seal any entry points (e.g., gaps in walls, roof
    voids) to prevent new colonies from moving in.
    ▪ Contact us if significant bee activity continues after 7 days.

Detailed Preparation per Area

Kitchen & Bathroom
o Empty cabinets fully; remove items from counters.
o Place contents in the middle of a room or large table.
o Clean stove (including behind), kitchen surfaces, and remove dirty dishes.
o Store uncovered food in the refrigerator.

Floors
o Remove all loose items: toys, dishes, pet bowls, pillows, clothing.
o Sweep/vacuum; discard waste outside.

Bedding
o Strip all beds; place linens in sealed bags before washing.
o Wash/dry on hottest safe setting; discard used bags outside.
o Store cleaned linens in fresh bags until after service.

Closets & Shelves
o Empty fully; place items in a central open space.

Faceplates & Wall Decor
o Remove outlet/switch plates, mirrors, and pictures; place in center of room.
o Clean grease off walls.

Pet Linens
o Wash all pet bedding, throws, and rugs.
o Steam clean high pet-traffic areas if possible.
